This opportunity involves delivering outstanding nursing care in a high-acuity operating room environment, specializing in organ transplant procedures. The position centers on supporting complex cases for liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplants, requiring robust clinical expertise across all aspects of transplantation, including organ implantation.
Schedule:
- Day shift: 4x10-hour shifts (06:45 17:15)
- Includes liver call and coverage for other cases as needed
- On-call requirements: 1 shift per week and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month (details discussed during interview)
- Guaranteed hours: 40 per week with 10-hour shifts
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of direct operating room RN experience in liver/transplant cases
- Demonstrated proficiency in MISONIX/CUSA technology
- Documented experience with implanting organs in transplant patients (not limited to organ harvesting)
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS (at time of application), NIHSS (prior to start if not already held)
- Strong skills checklist reflecting transplant expertise
- Must be nicotine-free and able to pass a 10-panel plus nicotine drug screen
- All requested time off must be submitted up front
Key Responsibilities:
- Circulate and assist with multi-organ transplant procedures
- Adhere to evidence-based practice standards in the acute care OR environment
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC
- Complete time-sensitive onboarding modules promptly
- Flex as needed within the OR scope to support patient care priorities
