Job Description

Step into a high-acuity surgical environment as a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room, supporting advanced liver and transplant procedures. This contract opportunity requires proficiency in complex organ transplantsliver, heart, lung, and kidneywith the expertise to perform re-implantation, not just harvesting. Youll join a dedicated surgical team in a leading acute care teaching hospital.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Day shifts: 4x10-hour shifts (06:45 17:15)
  • On-call required: 1 shift per week and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month (details discussed in interview)
  • Guaranteed weekly hours: 36 (for 3x12s) or 40 (for 8/10s)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years direct Operating Room RN experience focused on liver/transplant surgeries
  • Documented proficiency with Misonix/CUSA technology
  • Demonstrated clinical experience with organ reinsertion procedures (not solely organ harvesting)
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required at submission; NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start
  • Open to first-time travelers if all criteria are met
  • Pending license applications considered
  • Must be nicotine-free; negative 10-panel + cotinine drug screening mandatory
  • RTO (requested time off) must be submitted up front

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct perioperative nursing care for liver and multi-organ transplantation cases
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary surgical teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes
  • Prioritize hospital-mandated training modules upon assignment confirmation
  • Float within the operating room as needed, staying within the RN scope of practice
