Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of 1 year of recent operating room experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Proficient in sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Strong understanding of perioperative procedures, patient assessment, and documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary equipment and instruments are sterile and ready
- Assist the surgical team before, during, and after procedures, adhering to strict infection control protocols
- Monitor patient vitals, safety, and comfort throughout surgical interventions
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately and promptly
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compassionate care
- Demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and compliance standards
