Job Description

A critical care nursing opportunity is available for experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses with a focus on neurological procedures. This contract role offers a chance to provide specialized care in a Level I Trauma Center environment, utilizing advanced surgical technology and expanding your clinical expertise.

Schedule and Hours

  • 3x12-hour night shifts (1830-0700)
  • Rotating days off to accommodate unit needs
  • Weekend scheduling may be required
  • On-call approximately one weeknight per week and one weekend shift per month
  • Flexible Return to Office (RTO) requests welcomed, with time make-up arrangements

Responsibilities

  • Deliver perioperative care in a Level I Trauma Center with a strong emphasis on neurovascular and spine surgeries
  • Utilize advanced skills in neuro procedures such as ALIF, anterior cervical fusion, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, and XLIF
  • Operate robotic surgical systems, specifically the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, to support minimally invasive procedures
  • Collaborate with surgical teams and maintain strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols
  • Respond promptly to call requirements and ensure comprehensive patient care

Desired Qualifications

  • Active RN license with a minimum of 3 years of Operating Room experience
  • Proven Level I Trauma Center experience
  • Specialized skill set in neurological surgeries (3/4 of skillset focus) required
  • BLS certification mandatory
  • Experience with advanced robotic surgical tools (Da Vinci Xi) highly preferred
  • Openness to flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and on-call duties
