A Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room is needed to provide expert clinical care within a dynamic patient care team. This position involves coordinating and delivering patient-centered care, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency consistent with unit standards. The role requires strong communication skills, sensitivity to patient rights, and adaptability to a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care specific to patient age and condition within the Operating Room and related perioperative settings.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Maintain compliance with established protocols, safety standards, and infection control guidelines.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and changing patient needs.
- Participate in unit activities and maintain professional development.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Current New Mexico RN license or a current Compact state license.
- BLS Certification and ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Knowledge and skills applicable to surgical and perioperative patient populations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and staff.
- Physical stamina to manage prolonged standing, patient positioning, and equipment handling.
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Day shift: 6:30 AM 3:00 PM.
- Weekend and on-call requirements.
- Flexibility to float between different units as needed.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases under regulated safety standards.
- Clean, well-lit, and ventilated work environment.
