An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in the Operating Room, specializing in cardiovascular procedures. This contract position offers a chance to apply your skills in a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center environment, supporting complex cardiac surgeries with a team committed to excellence.
Location: Kansas City, KS
This role is situated in a leading medical institution renowned for its advanced surgical capabilities and patient-centered care. Kansas City combines urban amenities with Midwestern charm, offering vibrant cultural experiences, excellent dining, and a welcoming community atmosphere.
Schedule:
- 10-hour day shifts, 4 days per week (06:30 AM 5:00 PM)
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- Willingness to work and take call on holidays
- Weekend rotations as required
- On-call about one weekend per month
Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled scrub assistance in cardiac surgeries, ensuring sterile and efficient operative procedures
- Circulate effectively during cardiovascular operations, anticipating the surgical team's needs
- Maintain compliance with hospital and safety protocols in a fast-paced Level 1 trauma setting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Support flexible floating assignments across Bell OR, Cambridge OR, and SPD as needed
Qualifications & Experience:
- Kansas RN License and BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years recent CVOR experience at a Level 1 trauma center
- Strong recent scrub experience on cardiac surgeries coupled with circulating proficiency
- Ability to adapt to a nicotine-free facility environment
