Job Description

Exceptional opportunities are available for skilled operating room nurses with advanced transplant experience. This contract role focuses on a dynamic surgical environment that performs complex transplant procedures, including liver, heart, lung, and kidney. The position supports a short-term acute care teaching facility with modern amenities and dedicated staff.

Schedule:

  • Day shift: 4x10-hour shifts (06:45 - 17:15)
  • Includes liver call; assignment may include other operating room cases as needed
  • 1 on-call shift per week, plus two 12-hour weekend shifts per month (details confirmed during interview)
  • Guaranteed hours: 36 for 3x12s, 40 for 8/10s

Required Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (pending license accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years direct liver/transplant OR RN experience (non-negotiable and must be evident on skills checklist)
  • Proficient in MISONIX/CUSA technology
  • Experience in organ implantationnot only organ harvesting
  • Certifications required at submission: ACLS, BLS; NIHSS must be completed prior to start
  • First-time travelers welcome

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with a variety of transplant surgeries, acting as a key operating room RN for advanced organ cases
  • Utilize MISONIX/CUSA equipment with skill and confidence
  • Provide high-level intraoperative care and ensure surgical protocols are followed
  • Float within scope as needed to accommodate hospital requirements
  • Complete time-sensitive onboarding modules promptly upon assignment confirmation
