This opportunity calls for a skilled Registered Nurse with a focus on Operating Room care, specializing in liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures. Your expertise will be central to supporting transplant surgeries and related cases within a teaching hospital environment. This contract position is based in Hollywood, FL, offering day shifts and requiring a high level of proficiency and dedication.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience as an Operating Room RN with liver/transplant specialization.
- Strong hands-on experience in liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplants, including organ implantation (not just harvesting).
- Proficient with Misonix/CUSA technology.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required at application).
- NIHSS certification to be obtained prior to start.
- Nicotine-free with a negative drug screen including cotinine.
- Ability to work an on-call schedule: 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts per month.
- Locals accepted; pending licenses considered.
- Ability to float within clinical scope to meet facility needs.
Schedule/Hours:
- Day shifts: 06:45 AM to 5:15 PM.
- 4x10-hour shifts.
- Total guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week for 3x12s or 40 hours for 8/10s depending on schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Assist and support transplant surgeries with a focus on liver cases; participate in other procedures when appropriate.
- Comply with all time-sensitive training modules required for the assignment.
- Function within a smoke-free healthcare facility environment.
- Use EPIC electronic charting system.
- Adhere to all hospital protocols and standards.
