Job Description

Advance your nursing career in a dynamic operating room environment with a focus on complex transplant procedures. This opportunity is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses proficient in a range of transplant surgeries. You will play a vital role supporting multidisciplinary teams and making a difference in patient outcomes.

Schedule:

  • Day shifts, 4x10-hour (06:45 - 17:15)
  • On-call: 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts per month (details discussed in interview)
  • 36-40 guaranteed hours per week depending on shift structure

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of direct operating room experience specializing in liver and transplant (liver, heart, lung, kidney) procedures
  • Demonstrated experience with organ implantation (not only harvesting), as clearly detailed on your skills checklist
  • Expertise using MISONIX/CUSA technology in transplant surgeries
  • Certifications: ACLS and BLS required at the time of application; NIHSS to be completed before start
  • Willingness to float within surgical scope as needed
  • Ability to complete time-sensitive onboarding modules promptly
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be clearly included at the initial application stage
  • Smoke and nicotine-free status is non-negotiable, as verified by pre-assignment screening

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate, skilled perioperative care for transplant patients
  • Collaborate closely with surgical and anesthesia teams
  • Scrub and circulate for transplant cases, including various solid organs
  • Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards
  • Document care using EPIC charting
  • Adapt to a teaching hospital environment with a focus on continuous improvement
