Job Description

A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse in the Operating Room with robust liver transplant expertise. This role focuses heavily on liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures, requiring demonstrated surgical proficiency, including organ implantationnot solely harvesting. Candidates must possess advanced skills in Misonix/CUSA technology to support delicate transplant cases effectively.

Location: This position is based in Hollywood, FL, within a respected short-term acute care hospital known for its teaching environment and comprehensive transplant program. The healthcare facility supports a smoke-free workplace and provides convenient parking options. The setting fosters advanced clinical practice in a Magnet-like atmosphere with 230 staffed beds.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of direct operating room RN experience specifically in liver and multi-organ transplant surgeries.
  • Certification in ACLS and BLS (required at submission) and NIHSS (to be obtained before start).
  • Proficiency in Misonix/CUSA device use.
  • Experience with organ implantation procedures.
  • Nicotine-free status verified by a negative 10-panel and nicotine (cotinine) drug screen.
  • Ability to fulfill on-call requirements: one shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts monthly.
  • Must comply with strict regulatory requirements including timely completion of mandatory modules.
  • Local candidates welcomed; travel or relocation flexibility may be considered.
  • Pending licenses accepted with full disclosure of requested time off (RTO) upfront.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-level perioperative care for transplant patients, focusing on complex liver, heart, lung, and kidney cases.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate actively in a teaching hospital environment, adhering to clinical protocols and EPIC charting.
  • Maintain readiness for on-call duties per agreed schedule.
  • Prioritize patient safety and strict compliance with smoke-free and drug-free facility policies.

Schedule:

  • Day shift: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (06:45 AM 5:15 PM).
  • Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week with option for additional coverage.
