Job Description
Seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a deep background in multi-organ transplant nursing to support surgical services at a reputable short-term acute care teaching hospital. This contract assignment involves both a dynamic caseload and specialized requirementsongoing proficiency in complex transplant procedures is essential.
Schedule:
- Day shifts: 4x10-Hour (06:45 - 17:15)
- Liver call required; coverage for other cases if transplant procedures are not scheduled
- On-call: 1 shift per week and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month (to be discussed at interview)
- Guaranteed hours: 40 per week for 10-hour shifts
Qualifications:
- Active RN license (pending license acceptable)
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience as an OR RN in liver and multi-organ transplant (liver, heart, lung, kidney) is mandatory and must be clearly detailed in your application
- Proficient with Misonix/CUSA equipment
- Proven experience in both organ harvesting and implantation procedures is required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS at the time of application; NIHSS prior to start
- First-time travelers accepted
- Must have ability to complete time-sensitive onboarding modules promptly
- All requested time off must be included with your initial submission; changes will not be accommodated
- 100% nicotine-free (testing required)
- Willingness to float within scope as needed
Responsibilities:
- Deliver excellent perioperative and intraoperative care for transplant recipients
- Assist with a variety of OR cases with an emphasis on complex organ transplantations
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC
- Collaborate closely with transplant, anesthesia, and surgical teams
