An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room with a strong background in liver and multi-organ transplant procedures. This contract position is based in Hialeah, FL, at a respected acute care teaching hospital known for its advanced transplant program and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room, primarily focusing on liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant surgeries.
- Participate in organ implantation procedures, ensuring precise and expert handling during transplantations.
- Collaborate with the surgical team and maintain compliance with established protocols throughout procedures.
- Manage on-call duties, including one shift per week and additional 12-hour weekend shifts as required.
- Adhere to facility policies, including mandatory smoke-free standards and timely completion of required training modules.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of direct RN experience in liver and transplant Operating Room settings.
- Proficiency with Misonix/CUSA technology is mandatory.
- Certifications required at time of application: ACLS, BLS; NIHSS must be obtained before the start date.
- Candidates must demonstrate in-depth transplant experience reflected in their skills checklist, including organ implantation skills.
- Willingness to float within scope of practice to meet facility needs.
- Nicotine-free status confirmed by negative screening (10-panel drug test plus cotinine test).
- Pending licenses considered.
Schedule:
- Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (06:45 17:15)
- Total guaranteed hours between 36 to 40 per week, depending on shift pattern.
