Job Description

A registered nurse with expertise in operating room nursing will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality surgical care in a fast-paced environment. This assignment offers a contract opportunity in Guyton, GA, with an immediate start and a duration of approximately 13 weeks. The position involves day shifts with options of three 12-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, including on-call responsibilities one to two nights per week and one weekend every six weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR technicians to ensure seamless surgical procedures.
  • Anticipate and plan for patient care needs in the operating room, demonstrating critical thinking and leadership.
  • Manage supplies, maintain timely case flow, and communicate with patients families.
  • Update physician preference cards and assist directly in surgical cases by scrubbing in as needed.
  • Supervise and guide staff involved in delivering patient care in the surgical department while adhering to hospital policies, nursing regulations, and AORN standards.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of operating room RN experience.
  • Experience with robotics, orthopedic, general surgery, and obstetrics/gynecology procedures is required.
  • Strong understanding of state nurse practice acts and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
