This opportunity is suited for a registered nurse with specialized experience in operating room procedures, particularly in solid organ transplants such as liver, heart, lung, and kidney. The role requires a high level of technical skill and proficiency in complex transplant surgeries, including organ implantation.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years direct experience as an Operating Room RN with liver and transplant cases
- Proficiency in Misonix/CUSA equipment essential
- Experience performing organ implantation, not just organ harvesting
- Current certifications in ACLS and BLS required at application; NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start
- Ability to meet non-negotiable requirements related to transplant experience
- Nicotine-free as per facility policy; will require negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine test
Location: This assignment is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, an energetic city known for its boating canals, stunning beaches, and vibrant arts and culture scene. Responsibilities:
- Support complex transplant surgeries, focusing mainly on liver operations with flexibility for other cases
- Participate in on-call schedule comprising one shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts monthly
- Adhere strictly to hospital protocols and time-sensitive education modules
- Collaborate effectively with surgical teams in a teaching hospital environment, documenting care using Epic electronic charting
Schedule & Hours:
- 4 days per week, 10-hour day shifts from 06:45 to 17:15
- Guaranteed minimum of 36 hours/week with options for 40 hours based on schedule
