Job Description

An opportunity is available for a highly skilled Registered Nurse with demonstrated expertise in operating room procedures at an acute-care teaching facility. This contract position is specifically suited for professionals with robust transplant experience, notably with liver, heart, lung, and kidney cases. The assignment runs for a set contract duration and requires immediate prioritization of onboarding modules upon acceptance.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Day shift: 4x10-Hour (06:45 17:15)
  • Includes liver transplant call; will handle additional cases as needed
  • One on-call shift weekly and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month (details discussed further during interview)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of direct transplant/liver OR RN experience
  • Clear proficiency with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplants (not just organ harvestingmust have experience implanting organs)
  • Proficient in the use of Misonix/CUSA
  • Current ACLS and BLS required upon submission; NIHSS must be obtained before start
  • Accepts new travelers with required specialties; pending licenses may be considered
  • All time-off requests must be submitted with application; additional requests may not be approved
  • Facility is strictly non-smokingcandidates must be nicotine-free, verified by testing

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert perioperative care for transplant and non-transplant surgical cases
  • Maintain precise documentation using EPIC charting system
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary surgical teams, supporting floating assignments as needed
