Step into a specialized nursing role focused on high-acuity surgical care within the operating room. This contract position requires expertise in complex transplant procedures, specifically with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplants. The assignment features a teaching hospital environment and involves day shifts with on-call responsibilities.

Schedule/Hours:

• Day shift: 4x10-hour shifts, 06:45 17:15
• On-call: 1 shift per week and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of direct Operating Room RN experience with strong emphasis on liver and organ transplant procedures
• Experience must include organ implantation (not just harvesting)
• Proficiency with Misonix/CUSA devices
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required at submission)
• NIHSS certification required by start date
• Willingness to float within scope as needed
• Ability to complete time-sensitive onboarding modules promptly
• Must be nicotine-free; will require a negative nicotine screen

Responsibilities:

• Circulate and/or scrub on complex organ transplant cases, including liver, heart, lung, and kidney
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams in a teaching hospital setting
• Support other OR surgical cases when transplant procedures are not scheduled
• Deliver patient-centered care following best practices and facility standards
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EPIC electronic charting system
• Uphold safety, infection control, and regulatory protocols throughout all perioperative phases
