An experienced Registered Nurse with specialization in Operating Room care is sought for an 8-week contract opportunity based in Elgin, IL. This role involves working a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with weekend on-call rotation. The position requires proficiency in Ophthalmology and DaVinci Robot-assisted general surgery, supporting a collaborative surgical team dedicated to patient safety and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgeries, with emphasis on Ophthalmology and robotic-assisted procedures.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure seamless surgical workflows.
- Maintain patient safety and adhere to sterile techniques and infection control policies.
- Respond promptly to on-call requirements within a 30-minute radius during on-call shifts.
- Document patient care accurately using the Epic electronic health record system.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of operating room nursing experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in Ophthalmology and DaVinci robotic surgery.
- Experience with the Epic EHR system.
- Completion of at least one travel nursing contract.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to provide required pre-employment health screenings including CBC, drug screen, and QuantiFERON Gold test within 90 days.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM 5:30 PM
- 40 hours per week
- Weekend on-call rotation (8-10 shifts monthly)
- On-call response within 30 minutes as needed
