Job Description

Provide expert nursing care in the Operating Room setting with a focus on individualized, patient-centered treatment that promotes recovery and quality outcomes. This contract opportunity is based in Chula Vista, CA, ideal for an RN skilled in perioperative care and adept at managing complex clinical situations safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver holistic care through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation tailored to each patients unique needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans that ensure therapeutic and culturally appropriate interventions.
  • Advocate for patients and families by facilitating participation in care decisions and upholding their rights.
  • Document all nursing processes and patient responses thoroughly in compliance with clinical guidelines.
  • Identify educational needs of patients and families, developing individualized teaching plans that incorporate adult-learning principles.
  • Coordinate with healthcare team members to streamline patient care activities and address complex or high-risk situations.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately within the scope of practice to maintain safe and effective care delivery.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with Operating Room experience.
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills to manage perioperative patient care.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills and patient advocacy capabilities.
  • Knowledge of nursing process and compliance with healthcare policies and procedures.
