Job Description
Enhance patient care by bringing your expertise to a collaborative surgical environment. This contract opportunity offers the chance to play a key role in the Operating Room, working closely with surgeons and contributing to successful outcomes. You will function under the direction of the Nurse Manager, guiding the surgical team as a lead RN throughout procedures and contributing with circulating duties as needed.
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour shifts each week
- Two evening on-call shifts weekly (5 p.m. or end of shift until 7 p.m.)
- On-call coverage for one full weekend every three weekends (Saturday and Sunday, 24-hour periods)
Key Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
- Active RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Completion of an RN First Assisting course aligned with AORN Core Curriculum
- At least five years of comprehensive peri-operative nursing experience, including both scrubbing and circulating roles
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross
Role Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead assist to the surgeon throughout operative procedures
- Circulate as needed, ensuring patients safety and effective communication within the surgical team
- Uphold infection control and patient safety standards at every stage
- Collaborate seamlessly with physicians, anesthesia, and support staff
- Adapt to dynamic operating room requirements while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
