Job Description

Join an established healthcare team as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR), providing critical perioperative care at a Level II Trauma center. This contract opportunity is based in Chico, CA, offering a dynamic clinical setting with exposure to outpatient surgery at the Emergency Operating Center (EOC), as well as potential float assignments to the main OR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, competent nursing care in the operating room and occasionally in Med/Surg and Critical Care units as needed.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team and assist in various surgical procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, follow infection control protocols, and ensure compliance with hospital standards.
  • Adapt to shift assignments including day shifts and some weekend coverage.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current and active license with the California Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an OR RN.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Current CPR certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records system.
  • Successful completion of previous travel nursing assignments is a plus.

Additional Information:

  • This role requires agency staff to be W-2 employees of their respective agency.
