A travel nursing opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse skilled in Operating Room care, located in Carbondale, IL. This role involves working days in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) with on-call responsibilities as needed. The position requires floating to clinically appropriate units, aligned with the nurse's scope of practice, licensure, and demonstrated competencies.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care in the CVOR during day shifts.
- Float to other hospital units as required, ensuring patient safety and continuity of care.
- Respond to on-call duties to support urgent surgical or patient care needs.
- Maintain compliance with all clinical policies and standards.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- ACLS certification required.
- Experience in Operating Room nursing preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to floating assignments across different care units.
- Ability to maintain certifications based on the area floated (e.g., PALS, TNCC, NIHSS as appropriate).
Southern Illinois hospitals have specific certification requirements depending on the unit, including BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and in some cases CSU-ALS, especially for emergency departments, ICUs, medical units, step-down units, and rehab areas.
