Job Description

A registered nurse with expertise in operating room care is needed to support surgical services in a Level III Trauma OR within a complex community setting. This contract role offers the chance to deliver critical perioperative nursing care across a multispecialty patient population including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities include circulating independently in the operating room with proficiency in basic aseptic technique, managing patient care on a 1:1 clinician-to-patient ratio, and charting using the EPIC electronic medical record system. The position requires flexibility with rotating shifts covering day, evening, and weekend schedules, along with on-call duties including holiday and weekend coverage.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts RN License required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • 12 years of operating room nursing experience preferred
  • Competence in multispecialty OR environments
  • Ability to circulate independently adhering to aseptic technique
  • Comfortable working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations
  • Proficient with EPIC charting system
  • Willingness to cover rotating shifts and on-call assignments

Schedule:

  • Day shift: 7:00 am to 5:30 pm
  • Rotations include 1-2 evening shifts (1:00 pm 11:30 pm) and 1-2 weekend shifts per 4-week rotation
  • On-call responsibilities for holidays, weekdays, and weekends as described
