Provide expert perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting, supporting patients undergoing complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries. Your role will emphasize patient-centered care, safety, and teamwork while assisting in procedures such as Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts, valve replacements, carotid endarterectomies, and aortic abdominal aneurysm repairs.
Location:
Positioned in Bushland, TX, this role offers the opportunity to work within a community known for its quiet, rural charm and proximity to larger metropolitan areas. Bushland combines small-town appeal with access to outdoor recreation and regional amenities, providing a balanced lifestyle for healthcare professionals.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, plus on-call responsibilities
- Must reside within 100 miles of the facility
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved Registered Nursing program (Required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Highly preferred
- Current, unrestricted RN license for the state (Required)
- PALS, BLS, and ACLS certifications (Required)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing (Required)
- Cerner electronic medical record experience is essential
- Experience both scrubbing and circulating in the OR considered, minimum 1 year (alternative consideration)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, competent nursing care aligned with facility policies and patient-centered standards
- Provide professional leadership and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Support a range of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures by anticipating needs and maintaining sterility and protocol
- Demonstrate consistent service excellence and compassionate care for surgical patients
