Job Description

Deliver high-quality patient-centered care in a dynamic operating room environment, providing exceptional perioperative nursing services across all patient populations. As a Registered Nurse in perioperative care, your expertise ensures each surgical experience is safe, efficient, and conducted with compassion and precision. This contract opportunity involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and delivering evidence-based interventions during intraoperative procedures, including maintaining patient safety, integrity, and confidentiality. Flexibility is essential, as there is a scheduled rotation for Surgery Unit on-call coverage.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Rotation-based on-call shifts for the Surgery Unit.

Qualifications:

  • Associate of Science in Nursing required; Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Active RN license in Oregon.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification; TNCC required.
  • Preferred: CNOR certification, Peri-op 101, CRASE training (CRASE required if assignment extends beyond six months).
  • Ability to shift between varied assignments with composure and efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of patient confidentiality and advocacy.
  • Capacity to connect empathetically with diverse patients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, conflict resolution, and service excellence in daily interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and document safe, effective, and culturally competent patient care throughout the surgical process.
  • Direct and supervise team members during procedures.
  • Administer medications and perform interventions to maintain patient status and prevent injuries or complications.
  • Manage specimens and enforce surgical protocols, including site verification and retained surgical item prevention.
  • Maintain open communication with all care team members.
  • Uphold the organizations mission, vision, values, and comply with applicable education and accreditation requirements.
  • Float to other qualified departments as needed.
