As an Operating Room RN Circulator, youll be central to the surgical team, advocating for patient safety and ensuring every procedure runs smoothly. This role empowers you to grow through exposure to resourceful practices and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, adapting to the challenges and rewards of a critical access setting. Schedule/Hours:
- Travel assignment with flexible, rotating shifts and potential on-call hours
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete preoperative assessments and serve as a patient advocate throughout perioperative phases
- Prepare and organize the OR suite, ensuring sterile technique and equipment readiness
- Coordinate intraoperative care, manage surgical supplies, and perform documentation in the electronic health record
- Continuously monitor patient stability in collaboration with anesthesia providers
- Assist with postoperative transitions and hand-off communication
- Participate in emergency responses and on-call rotations
- Support quality initiatives and compliance with all regulatory standards
- Work collaboratively with a small, adaptable OR team; assist in perioperative areas as needed
Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited ASN or BSN program (BSN preferred)
- Current, unrestricted RN license; compact license accepted
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS required (or attainable within 6 months)
- PALS and CNOR preferred
- 1-2 years OR circulator experience highly desired; rural hospital experience a plus
- Strong surgical, organizational, communication, and critical thinking abilities
- Proficiency in EMRs
