Job Description

A registered nurse with specialized experience in the operating room is needed for a contract assignment in Billings, MT. This role offers a unique opportunity to work night shifts with a focus on neurological and robotic surgical procedures at a Level I trauma center.

Schedule & Hours:

  • 3x12 hour night shifts (18:30 07:00)
  • Rotating days off to align with unit needs
  • Weekend shifts as scheduled
  • On-call approximately one weeknight per week and one weekend shift per month
  • Flexibility on return-to-office requests, with the requirement to make up missed time

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert perioperative nursing care primarily in neuro surgical cases, including ALIF, anterior cervical fusion, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, and XLIF
  • Utilize the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System to assist with robotic surgeries
  • Respond to trauma cases with precision and efficiency, consistent with Level I trauma center protocols
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and successful operative outcomes
  • Maintain certification standards such as BLS and adhere to facility policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN licensure with at least 3 years of OR nursing experience
  • Experience in Level I trauma center environments
  • Demonstrated neuro surgical skills and familiarity with listed procedures
  • Proficiency with the Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system
  • BLS certification required
  • Willingness to work night shifts and handle on-call responsibilities
  • First-time travelers welcome
