Schedule/Hours:

  • Travel assignment; hours/schedule will be shared during the interview process

Key Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an NLN-accredited nursing program; Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of operating room nursing experience
  • Valid Alaska RN license (in good standing)
  • Current BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
  • National Certification in Surgery/PACU preferred
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with AORN standards and surgical/medical equipment
  • Ability to manage perioperative care for patients across age groups
  • COVID-19 vaccination required

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for populations ranging from newborns to elderly
  • Direct and coordinate nursing activities based on industry standards
  • Serve as a resource for staff members and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
  • Supervise administrative assistants, schedulers, and CSR technicians alongside the Charge Nurse
  • Administer treatments, medications, and interpret diagnostic results
  • Educate patients and their families, adapting approaches to diverse backgrounds
