Schedule/Hours:
- 8-hour shifts
- Staff rotate through 6:30 AM3:00 PM, 9:00 AM5:30 PM, or 11:00 AM7:30 PM
- Weekends and call coverage are voluntary
- 40 hours per week
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited RN program required (BSN preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years recent Operating Room experience
- Active Pennsylvania RN license
- BLS and ACLS certification (AHA)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to learning: in-house 6-month OR course provided if needed
- Familiarity with AORN standards or willingness to train
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update individualized patient care plans pre- and post-operatively
- Maintain a sterile surgical field and advocate for patient safety
- Apply aseptic techniques and adapt to dynamic clinical situations
- Educate patients and families on perioperative processes
- Stay current with evolving healthcare practices, equipment, and ethical guidelines
