Schedule/Hours:
- 8-hour shifts; rotating coverage between 6:30a3:00p, 9:00a5:30p, and 11:00a7:30p
- 40 hours per week
- Weekend coverage and call are voluntary
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years prior operating room nursing experience
- Active RN license in Pennsylvania
- Current BLS & ACLS certifications (per AHA standards)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team skills
- Sound judgment, professionalism, and emotional resilience
- Familiarity with perioperative nursing practices (AORN)
- Willingness to complete a 6-month in-house OR course if needed
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively
- Develop and update surgical care plans
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to aseptic technique
- Document care interventions and patient progress
- Educate patients and families before surgery
- Stay updated on perioperative trends, equipment, and best practices
