As a travel RN specializing in the Operating Room, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with expert surgical teams and encounter a range of leadership styles. Exposure to a variety of workflows and workplace cultures enriches your resume, enhances your clinical knowledge, and helps you develop broad, adaptable skills while delivering pivotal care for pediatric through geriatric populations.
Schedule & Hours:
- 8-hour shifts, staff rotates through: 6:30 AM 3:00 PM, 9:00 AM 5:30 PM, 11:00 AM 7:30 PM
- Weekend coverage and call are voluntary
- 40 hours per week
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Completion of an accredited RN program (BSN preferred)
- At least 2 years prior Operating Room nursing experience
- Pennsylvania RN license, current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA standards)
- In-depth knowledge of perioperative nursing best practices (AORN standards)
- Excellent team collaboration, communication, and patient care skills
- Readiness to enroll in a 6-month in-house Operating Room course if needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete assessments, develop, and update perioperative plans of care
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure supply/equipment readiness
- Recognize and respond to patient status changes during procedures
- Document interventions and outcomes accurately
- Educate patients and families on surgical processes
- Uphold safety, aseptic, and ethical standards consistently
