Job Description
An excellent opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses specializing in the Operating Room is available in Amherst, MA. This contract position features a 4x10-hour shift schedule, with on-call responsibilities two days per week from 5 p.m. (or at the end of the shift) to 7 p.m., and one weekend on call every three weekends covering 24-hour periods. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, you will assist surgeons in a lead role throughout operative procedures and may occasionally serve as a circulating nurse.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert assistance to surgeons during operative procedures, ensuring patient safety.
- Serve as a circulating nurse when required, managing the operating room environment.
- Adhere to established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure smooth surgical workflow.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Massachusetts RN licensure.
- Completion of an RN First Assisting course aligned with AORN Core Curriculum.
- Minimum five years of diversified perioperative nursing experience with proficiency in both scrubbing and circulating roles.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
