Schedule/Hours:

  • Travel position with flexibility required to meet departmental needs

Desired Qualifications:

  • Completion of a nursing education program accredited by the NLN; Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
  • Active licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Alaska, in good standing
  • 1-2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred)
  • National Certification in Surgery/PACU highly regarded
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
  • Familiarity with AORN standards and strong knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proven ability to adapt to independent and collaborative care environments
  • Flexibility with scheduling and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to complete COVID vaccination requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care using the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Direct and coordinate care based on nursing best practices and patient needs, from birth through elderly populations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality, cost-effective, and efficient patient care
  • Communicate effectively and provide education to patients, families, and colleagues
  • Manage and operate a range of medical and office equipment, including cardiac monitors and autoclave
  • Exercise leadership by supervising administrative assistants, schedulers, and CSR techs in partnership with the Charge Nurse
