A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in the operating room. This contract position requires expertise in various surgical specialties and a strong commitment to providing safe, high-quality intraoperative care.
Schedule:
- 4x10 hour shifts each week (06:3017:00)
- Days vary according to operational needs
- On-call commitment: one weekday on call each week, plus one on-call weekend per month
Qualifications:
- Must live at least 100 miles away
- Active, unrestricted RN license
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
- Two or more years of operating room nursing experience across multiple specialties
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- BSN degree highly desired
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform scrubbing and circulating duties for operative procedures
- Manage patient admissions to the operative suite, ensuring accurate documentation and patient safety
- Adhere to aseptic and safety standards, promoting optimal surgical outcomes
- Consult and coordinate with surgical teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative care
- Serve as a communication liaison for patients, families, and surgical team members
- Prepare the operating room by gathering necessary equipment, verifying functionality, and ensuring supplies and implants are available
- Maintain compliance with facility protocols and contribute to a positive surgical environment
