Job Description

Provide compassionate, expert care as a Registered Nurse specializing in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). In this contract role, you will play a crucial part in delivering coordinated nursing care for neonates, following the highest standards of practice. Youll act as both a hands-on caregiver and as a mentor to assigned nursing staff, utilizing clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and sound judgment in all aspects of patient care.

Key Details:

  • Schedule/Hours: Will include a combination of education and non-productive hours for Float Pool nurses. Assignment hours align with departmental needs.

Qualifications:

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum of one year recent experience working in a NICU setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality, evidence-based neonatal care.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in supervising and supporting the professional development of colleagues.
  • Capacity to exercise independent judgment and adapt to evolving clinical situations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and comprehensive NICU patient care using the nursing processassessment, planning, intervention, and evaluationin accordance with established protocols.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of assigned nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Ensure all clinical practices meet regulatory and facility standards.
  • Coordinate patient care with other healthcare disciplines, including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and medical staff.
  • Accurately document all aspects of care provided and participate in ongoing education and clinical training sessions as required.
