Job Description
Deliver specialized care to critically ill newborns in a high-acuity neonatal intensive care environment. Your expertise as a Registered Nurse will make a significant difference for vulnerable infants and their families, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through teamwork, compassion, and clinical excellence.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract position (specific shift details provided during interview)
Qualifications:
- Active, unencumbered RN license
- Minimum one year of recent experience in a Level III or IV NICU
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication abilities
- Ability to manage comfort and care for high-risk neonates, including respiratory, nutritional, and developmental needs
- Familiarity with family-centered care and effective patient education
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for infants requiring intensive support
- Monitor and document vital signs, interventions, and patient status
- Administer medications, IVs, and specialized treatments (ventilators, CPAP, phototherapy, etc.)
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary neonatal teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and social workers
- Educate and support families, guiding them through complex care processes and transitions
- Uphold infection control and safety standards in all interactions
