Job Description

A full-time RN with NICU experience is needed for a contract position in North Pole, AK, supporting specialized neonatal care. The role requires commitment to three 12-hour shifts with weekend scheduling of five shifts in six weeks. Voluntary on-call and floating to other hospital units may be required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active RN license with at least 1 year of professional nursing experience
  • NICU clinical expertise and ability to provide comprehensive neonatal care
  • Strong assessment skills covering physical, psychological, and developmental needs
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Effective communication with patients' families and caregivers

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and reassessments in line with hospital policy
  • Review patient histories, diagnostics, and laboratory results, promptly reporting abnormalities
  • Develop individualized care and discharge plans incorporating patient-specific goals and multidisciplinary input
  • Address cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of neonates and their families
  • Provide flexible support by floating to other hospital units when necessary
