Job Description

Deliver specialized care to newborns in a dynamic Neonatal Intensive Care Unit role. This contract nursing opportunity requires expertise in NICU practices, including comprehensive patient care planning, effective communication with families, and diligent monitoring of neonatal physiological changes. The position also involves collaborating with and supervising support staff and may require cross-training and floating to pediatric care units as needed.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Specific shifts as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Current and unrestricted RN license
  • Demonstrated experience in a NICU or equivalent acute-care setting
  • Proficiency in neonatal medication administration and care protocols
  • Strong skills in recognizing and responding to physiological and psychosocial needs of neonates
  • Capability to teach and support families during the care process
  • Ability to supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff according to their licensure and capabilities
  • Willingness to float to pediatric units as required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver nursing care for neonatal patients
  • Assess patient status and initiate appropriate interventions
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately per physician orders
  • Diligently document patient progress, physiological changes, and care provided
  • Provide education and guidance to families regarding care and recovery processes
  • Supervise, guide, and delegate responsibilities to nursing assistants and support personnel
  • Maintain compliance with clinical and safety standards at all times
