Job Description
Make a difference in neonatal care by providing high-quality support to critically ill newborns as part of an experienced NICU nursing team. In this contract role, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care using established evidence-based standards and the nursing process. Your expertise will be key in supporting optimal outcomes for the hospitals youngest and most vulnerable patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing assessments
- Supervise and guide nursing staff while ensuring adherence to care standards and established protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teamsincluding physicians, respiratory therapists, and social workersto coordinate and optimize patient care
- Educate and support parents and families throughout their NICU experience
- Effectively manage patient documentation and utilize electronic health records
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards
- Float to multiple units as assigned and accurately record work locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active RN license with current credentials to practice
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Level III/IV NICU settings
- Current certifications in BLS and NRP required
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working as part of a float pool or willingness to float to various departments as needed
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to educate and reassure families in stressful situations
