Deliver vital care in a dynamic Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, ensuring the highest standard of nursing for vulnerable newborns and their families. This contract position centers on planning, coordinating, and providing comprehensive care, while also supporting neonatal patients psychosocial needs. An essential component includes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, maintaining safety in medical administration, monitoring status changes, and providing essential education to both families and peers. The role also involves supervision of ancillary staff and cross-training to float to Pediatrics as needed.
Schedule/Hours:
- Shifts as assigned within the NICU and Pediatric units
Required Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active and unrestricted RN license
- Minimum of one year recent NICU nursing experience
- Current BLS and NRP certifications
- Strong assessment, clinical, and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice
- Proven adaptability and willingness to cross-train and float to both NICU and Pediatrics
- Compassionate approach to patient and family education and support
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to neonates requiring intensive monitoring and intervention
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in partnership with healthcare providers
- Administer medications safely and document all care activities accurately
- Monitor and report any changes in patient condition promptly
- Provide education and emotional support to patients families
- Supervise ancillary staff to uphold best practices in neonatal and pediatric care
