Job Description
Deliver exceptional nursing care to neonates in a dynamic, collaborative Neonatal Intensive Care Unit environment. As a key contributor to the care team, you will coordinate all aspects of nursing practice for critically ill newborns and their families. You will also be cross-trained and may occasionally provide coverage in the Pediatric unit.
Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted RN license
- Demonstrated experience in neonatal intensive care
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Strong assessment, communication, and patient teaching abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Experience delegating duties to nursing assistants or ancillary staff
- Flexibility to float to pediatric unit as needed
Schedule:
- Contract-based role
- Shift details provided upon interview
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans for NICU patients
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses
- Observe and document physiological changes and behavioral cues
- Deliver compassionate support addressing psychosocial and developmental needs of neonates and their families
- Provide education and training to parents and guardians regarding infant care
- Delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary staff, ensuring compliance with their scope of practice
- Maintain meticulous records and uphold rigorous safety standards
- Engage in ongoing professional development and cross-training for coverage in the Pediatric unit as assigned
