Job Description

Deliver expert care to the smallest and most vulnerable patients as a Registered Nurse specializing in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In this vital role, you will collaborate with a dedicated healthcare team, planning and providing detail-oriented nursing care for neonates on assigned shifts.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Current, unrestricted RN license
  • Minimum of one year NICU experience (recent acute care preferred)
  • Pediatric care experience strongly desired; willingness to float to Pediatrics required
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications
  • Proven ability to assess patient conditions, provide critical interventions, and document care accurately
  • Strong communication skills with families, team members, and ancillary staff
  • Ability to educate parents and families with compassion
  • Demonstrated skills in supervising and delegating to support staff within scope of practice

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based nursing care to infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • Assess, develop, and implement individualized care plans for patients with high-risk health needs
  • Administer medications, monitor and document physiological changes, and respond to critical situations
  • Address psychosocial needs of parents and families, offering guidance and education throughout the NICU experience
  • Safely supervise and delegate patient care tasks to ancillary personnel
  • Float to Pediatric Unit as cross-trained when required
  • Ensure compliance with all clinical protocols, hospital policies, and standards of safety
