A registered nurse role focusing on orthopedic and trauma care is available in Winston-Salem, NC. This position provides specialized nursing in pre-operative and post-operative orthopedic patients, including elective and trauma cases. Candidates will work with total joint replacements such as hip, knee, and shoulder procedures, leveraging advanced ortho equipment to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active RN license with at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience (no first-time travelers)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
- Experience working with Rapid Response Teams
- Orthopedic and trauma nursing expertise, including pre-op and post-op care
- Familiarity with safe patient handling and orthopedic medical devices (e.g., CPM, knee immobilizers)

Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care in a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratiooccasionally stretching to 1:7
- Manage patient care for elective and trauma orthopedic cases, including total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, utilizing Rapid Response protocols as needed
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance through EPIC
- Maintain adherence to hospital policies including strict attendance and punctuality requirements
Schedule/Hours:
- 3x 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) on an every-other-week rotation
- Must include one holiday and one holiday evening shift during the holiday period
- No call shifts
