Working in a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital provides the invaluable opportunity to collaborate with leaders in acute care, practice evidence-based nursing, and broaden your clinical expertise. Youll interface with multidisciplinary teams and care for diverse patient populations with complex needs, further building your resume. Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A)
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 shifts/12 in a 6-week cycle
- No call requirements
- Major holiday rotations as scheduled
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry RN experience
- BLS required, Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) requiredmust pass EKG competency
- ACLS and national specialty certifications preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and care coordination skills
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, wound care, IV insertion, chest tube management, glucose/insulin drips, and discharge planning
- Experience with EPIC, Alaris pumps, Pyxis, and advanced monitoring equipment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based care to ortho/trauma, post-surgical, and chronic/acute med-surg patients
- Collaborate with CNAs, unit secretaries, charge/resource nurses, and ancillary teams
- Manage central lines, wound care, telemetry, and medication protocols
- Educate patients/families on renal/fluid management and facilitate safe discharges
- Float between adult med-surg/tele units as needed
