Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling cycle
- Holiday shifts required: 1 per major holiday period
- No on-call requirements
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Must pass EKG (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) competency
- National certification (Medical-Surgical or Nephrology nursing) is a plus
- Open to first-time travelers
Desired Skills:
- Competency in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, wound care, and post-op monitoring
- Experience with cardiac telemetry interpretation and drips (insulin, heparin, etc.)
- Proficient in IV insertion, central line care, and care coordination
- Strong clinical assessment and discharge planning abilities, especially related to renal and fluid management
- Familiarity with EPIC, Alaris pumps, Pyxis, and advanced telemetry equipment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-level medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care
- Monitor, assess, and coordinate care of orthopedic, trauma, and complex medical patients
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including charge nurses, support staff, and physicians
- Educate patients and families regarding care, discharge plans, and self-management
- Float to other adult Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed
