Elevate your nursing career by working in a teaching hospital recognized both as a Level 1 Trauma Center and for its comprehensive care programs. Youll build your resume through exposure to advanced clinical protocols, interdisciplinary teamwork, and diverse patient populations, ranging from complex orthopedic and trauma cases to chronic illness management. Experienced leadership and collaborative teamwork will accelerate your professional growth, while assignments on different units within the facility expose you to a range of workplace practices.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts (7AM-7PM or 7PM-7AM)
  • 5-6 weekend shifts per 12-shift cycle (in a 6-week period)
  • Rotation includes one shift per major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
  • No on-call requirement
  • Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks

Ideal Background:

  • 2+ years' experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing (First-time travelers welcome!)
  • Valid RN license and BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Must pass EKG competency (BCR required)
  • Strong clinical assessment skills for trauma-level care
  • Cardiac, telemetry, and post-op monitoring proficiency
  • Experience with trach care, chest tubes, wound care, PIV and central lines
  • Demonstrated expertise in interdisciplinary communication and discharge planning

Primary Duties:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care for trauma, surgical, and medically-complex patients
  • Interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms; assist in timely interventions
  • Initiate and manage IVs, central lines, insulin, and heparin drips
  • Coordinate with CNAs, resource teams, and other healthcare professionals
  • Support patient education, especially on renal and fluid management
  • Document in EPIC; utilize a range of hospital technology and equipment
