Job Description
Step into a dynamic medical-surgical/telemetry environment at a large teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center. As a skilled Registered Nurse with at least two years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience, you will provide patient-centered care within a collaborative, high-acuity team setting. This is a contract-based position suited for professionals who thrive in fast-paced, diverse hospital units and are comfortable floating within all Med/Tele units as needed.
Schedule:
- Contract assignment
- Floating to all Med/Tele units as required
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (must pass EKG competency exam upon onboarding)
- Med/Surg certification is a plus
- Proficiency with trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucometer use
- Experience managing drips such as insulin, heparin, and rate-titrated infusions
- EPIC EMR experience highly desirable
- First-time travelers welcome
Responsibilities:
- Deliver quality patient care in a 2036 bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Manage patient loads with typical RN ratios of 1:46
- Collaborate with CNAs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, and resource teams
- Draw blood from central lines as needed and coordinate with lab teams
- Monitor patient vitals and respond to telemetry alerts via Philips monitors
- Initiate IV therapies and utilize Alaris pump systems
- Participate actively in a busy, team-oriented work culture
