Job Description

Step into a dynamic medical-surgical/telemetry environment at a large teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center. As a skilled Registered Nurse with at least two years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience, you will provide patient-centered care within a collaborative, high-acuity team setting. This is a contract-based position suited for professionals who thrive in fast-paced, diverse hospital units and are comfortable floating within all Med/Tele units as needed.

Schedule:

  • Contract assignment
  • Floating to all Med/Tele units as required

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (must pass EKG competency exam upon onboarding)
  • Med/Surg certification is a plus
  • Proficiency with trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucometer use
  • Experience managing drips such as insulin, heparin, and rate-titrated infusions
  • EPIC EMR experience highly desirable
  • First-time travelers welcome

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver quality patient care in a 2036 bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit
  • Manage patient loads with typical RN ratios of 1:46
  • Collaborate with CNAs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, and resource teams
  • Draw blood from central lines as needed and coordinate with lab teams
  • Monitor patient vitals and respond to telemetry alerts via Philips monitors
  • Initiate IV therapies and utilize Alaris pump systems
  • Participate actively in a busy, team-oriented work culture
