Job Description

An exciting opportunity is open for an experienced RN with expertise in Medical/Surgical nursing, with a focus on renal care, within a dynamic adult and geriatric patient unit. This contract position welcomes nurses who thrive in diverse, fast-paced clinical settings.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • Expectation to work assigned holidays in alignment with the assignment period
  • Maximum 7 days of time off allowed

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active RN license and BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
  • Proficiency in: HD catheter management, manual and PD cycler, sepsis, tele monitoring, ETOH (CIWA), UTI management, CKD, hypertensive emergencies
  • Previous experience with adults and geriatric populations
  • Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, SBAR documentation systems

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for a diverse Med/Surg renal patient population
  • Manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio; unit consists of 20 rooms and an average daily census of 18
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary clinical team utilizing advanced monitoring and documentation systems
  • Assist in managing complex conditions, including chronic kidney disease, hypertension emergencies, and sepsis
  • Float as needed to support staff across units
  • Adhere to full compliance and orientation requirements to ensure seamless start and continued excellence in care delivery

Additional Information:

  • Acceptable scrubs: navy, white, or combinations
  • Full compliance with onboarding is required for timely orientation
  • Flexibility is necessary to cover holidays if they fall within your contract period
  • Locals at the same compensation as travelers
