Job Description
Deliver exceptional patient care in a dynamic Med/Surg environment with a strong emphasis on renal-focused nursing. This role provides the opportunity to work with a diverse adult-to-geriatric population, supporting complex cases such as HD catheter management, Manual PD/PD cycler, sepsis, tele monitoring, ETOH (CIWA), UTI, CKD, and hypertensive emergencies. Leverage your experience in a fast-paced setting that values skill and compassion.
Schedule:
- Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 19:00)
- Rotating weekends (every other weekend required)
- Floating assignments as needed
- No call requirements
- Holiday coverage as outlined for major holidays during assignment period
- Maximum of 7 days requested time off
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN license and BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
- Proven skills in renal-focused care; comfortable managing HD Catheters, Manual PD/PD cycler, and acute interventions such as sepsis and hypertensive crisis
- Experience with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR preferred
Clinical Setting:
- Adult to geriatric patient focus; unit ratio 1:6; 20 rooms, average daily census of 18
- Scrub colors: Navy, white, or a combination
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg patients with renal and comorbid needs
- Utilize tele monitoring and protocols for ETOH withdrawal, UTI, CKD exacerbations, and emergencies
- Adhere to compliance standards for orientation and unit guidelines
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and adapt to patient needs through floating and rotation
