Job Description

Deliver specialized nursing care within a renal-focused med/surg setting, supporting adult to geriatric patients in a dynamic hospital environment. This contract opportunity is based in Stone Mountain, GA, offering a 3x12-hour day shift schedule (07:00 - 19:00) and an engaging patient ratio of 1:6 over 20 rooms with an average daily census of 18.

Responsibilities include managing hemodialysis catheters, manual peritoneal dialysis, and PD cyclers, along with providing care for sepsis, telemonitoring, alcohol withdrawal (CIWA), UTIs, chronic kidney disease, and hypertension emergencies. Utilize your skills with the units Epic system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication standards while adhering to clinical guidelines and protocols. Flexibility to float across units as needed and coverage during major holidays within the assignment period is required.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience; first-time travelers are welcomed.
  • Valid BLS certification.
  • Experience in med/surg nursing with focus on renal patient care.
  • Proficiency managing HD catheters, peritoneal dialysis modalities, and handling complex patient monitoring.
  • Comfortable working with electronic medical records (Epic) and medication dispensing systems (Pyxis).
  • Ability to maintain professional compliance and participate in clinical screening processes.
