Step into a dynamic renal-focused Med/Surg environment dedicated to serving adult and geriatric populations. This contract opportunity places you at the heart of multidisciplinary care with an emphasis on high-acuity renal patients. Youll play an essential role supporting patient recovery and enhancing quality of life in a fast-paced setting.
Schedule:
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts weekly (07:00 - 19:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to similar units as needed
- Major holiday coverage required per assignment timeline
Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered Nurse licensure required
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
- Active BLS certification
- Experience caring for adults to geriatrics
- Proficiency in managing:
- Renal patients (HD catheter management, manual PD/PD cycler)
- Sepsis, hypertension emergency, UTI, CKD
- Telemetry monitoring, ETOH withdrawal (CIWA protocol)
- Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive care to a patient ratio of 1:6 (unit: 20 rooms, census: ~18)
- Monitor, assess, and document patient progress accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding chronic and acute kidney conditions
- Comply with hospital policies and rigorous orientation/compliance requirements
Additional Details:
- Scrub color: Navy, white, or a blend
- RTO (Requested Time Off): Maximum of 7 days
- Full compliance mandatory prior to start; timely documentation ensures on-time orientation
