Job Description
Deliver critical care as a skilled Med/Surg RN with neuro assessment and telemetry expertise in a dynamic orthopedic and neuro medical-surgical unit. This opportunity is based in Salem, MA, designed for experienced nursing professionals ready to manage diverse patient populations on a travel assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a 32-bed Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg unit, including orthopedic, neuro/surgical, fracture, and medical overflow patients
- Interpret telemetry strips confidently to monitor cardiac patients effectively
- Float to other applicable units as required, demonstrating adaptability
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain a clinical patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:6 depending on shift
- Utilize EPIC for precise and timely electronic medical record charting
Qualifications:
- Current Massachusetts RN License
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in Med/Surg with neuro and telemetry skills
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong competency in telemetry strip interpretation is mandatory
- Experience with EPIC charting system is advantageous
Schedule and Shift Details:
- Travel nursing position with 36 hours per week
- Rotating day shifts available (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a) with low rotation frequency; fixed night shifts available
- Flexibility to float between Phippen 6 and Phippen 7 units as required
