Job Description

This opportunity is for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong cardiac background to provide exceptional care on a 24-bed Medical Cardiology Unit in Salem, MA. The role involves working on a telemetry floor where expertise in reading telemetry strips and managing cardiac drips is essential. This contract position supports a schedule rotating through days, evenings, and nights, averaging 36 hours per week.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts RN license
  • AHA BLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience with a focus on telemetry and cardiology
  • Ability to interpret telemetry strips confidently
  • Skilled at performing cardiac drips and managing post-catheterization care, including PCI, ICD, PPM, and ablation procedures
  • Experience with TR Band and femoral approach care

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients on the telemetry cardiology unit
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry data continuously
  • Administer and manage cardiac drips safely and effectively
  • Provide post-procedural care for catheterization patients, ensuring recovery protocols are followed
  • Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to maintain a safe nurse-to-patient ratio (1:5 days, 1:6 nights) to optimize patient outcomes
