Job Description

Providing skilled nursing care on a dedicated Medical-Surgical Unit supporting both adult geriatric and pediatric patients, this role offers a dynamic and rewarding clinical environment. The unit maintains exceptional staffing ratiostypically a 4:1 patient load for non-COVID cases and 2:1 for COVID patientsenabling comprehensive patient care and professional satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a 20-bed medical-surgical unit.
  • Manage patient loads effectively in line with established nurse-to-patient ratios.
  • Provide support during flu immunization clinics as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to a collaborative clinical team.
  • Occasionally float to other qualified departments, delivering competent care or providing task-oriented assistance.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and compliance deadlines, including mandatory orientation sessions scheduled on Mondays.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current Registered Nurse license with a minimum of three years experience in medical-surgical nursing.
  • At least one year of pediatric nursing experience.
  • American Heart Association certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are mandatory.
  • Comfort and competence working with both adult and pediatric patient populations.
  • Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts including weekends, holidays, and varying schedules as assigned.
