This travel nursing opportunity is designed for experienced Registered Nurses specializing in Medical-Surgical (MS) care. This role is based in the Rome, NY area and requires candidates with a solid background in MS nursing and previous travel nursing experience. The position involves working primarily with adult patients recovering from various surgical procedures, including bariatric surgery, and managing complex care needs such as IV pumps, feeding tubes, and N/G tubes.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current, active RN license in New York State and all other active RN licenses
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Medical-Surgical nursing
- Travel nursing experience is mandatory
- Updated resume reflecting relevant MS experience and travel assignments
- Current AHA BLS certification
- Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC
- Valid drivers license matching demographic information
- Relevant RTO documentation must be included upon submission
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality post-surgical care to adult patients with diagnoses such as abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and morbid obesity
- Operate and manage specialty equipment including IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes
- Float between units as required to meet patient care needs
- Work a 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM shift with variable block scheduling (block scheduling is not guaranteed)
- Adhere to facility guidelines and scrubs policy (navy blue scrub color required)
