This assignment promises significant professional growth by working in dynamic Med/Surg and Telemetry units treating diverse patient populations, and through close collaboration with multidisciplinary teamshospitalists, CNAs, RTs, and tech staff. Exposure to regional floating practices offers the unique opportunity to experience multiple work settings and leadership styles, rapidly enhancing your adaptability and expanding your resume with sought-after experiences.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Travel assignment
  • Floating required within regional facilities and scope of practice
  • Orientation: NEO plus two days departmental

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 18 months Med/Tele experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Strong skills in stroke/NIH assessments, chest tube management, PIV starts, trach care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, NGT placement, and advanced drain/tube/pump management
  • Medication gtt management, including cardiac drips, heparin, IV fluids, and blood products
  • Competency with Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Philips monitors
  • Flexibility for regional floating (within your scope only)
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care for medical/surgical and telemetry patients (stroke, COPD, chest pain, GI bleed, altered mental status)
  • RN patient ratios: 1:5-6 (acuity-based; may flex up to 1:7-8 during surges)
  • Collaborate seamlessly with CNAs, techs, charge nurses, physicians, and support staff
  • Maintain and monitor drips, tubes, and specialized treatments
  • Document accurately in Epic EMR
  • Adapt and function efficiently across multiple facilities as needed
