Serving on a dynamic Neuro Cardiac Med/Surg Telemetry unit, youll work alongside supportive healthcare professionals dedicated to using innovative practices and collaborative leadership. With exposure to acute and complex patient populationsranging from cardiac interventions to neurological careyoull broaden your skill set and enhance your professional profile. Schedule & Hours
- 36-hour guaranteed workweeks (both 36 and 48-hour contracts available upon request)
- 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM 7 PM
- Must be able to work three weekends within a six-week period and every other holiday
Qualifications
- Active compact RN license required
- AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications (must be submitted with application)
- Minimum 2 years strong Tele/Med/Surg experience
- At least one previous travel assignment
- Trauma Level II experience essential
- Recent experience with EPIC charting (check-off required)
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Strong assessment/critical thinking, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and neuro skills needed
- Flexibility to float between nearby campuses as needed (with 2-hour notice)
Key Responsibilities
- Care for complex Med/Surg and Telemetry patients (post-cardiac caths, stroke, oncology, post-op abdominal surgery, cranial surgery)
- Initiate/titrate cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips
- Perform dysphagia screening and NIHSS assessments
- Precept students and orient new hires in a teaching hospital environment
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and adaptability in fast-paced settings
