Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) unit
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver hands-on nursing care to Medical-Surgical patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Monitor patient conditions and collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals on treatment plans
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, care plans, and recovery processes
  • Document all care activities and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
  • Ensure patient safety and comply with infection control policies
  • Participate in care conferences and contribute to the improvement of patient outcomes
