This contract nursing opportunity is based in Racine, WI, offering a dynamic role in a supportive medical surgical unit. The position involves providing exceptional care to diverse surgical patients including bariatric, orthopedic, and various post-operative cases. A minimum of one year experience as a registered nurse is required, with a strong emphasis on medical-surgical skills and cardiac rhythm interpretation.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with minimum 1 year of clinical experience
  • Proficiency in medical-surgical nursing and post-operative care
  • Skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, wound care, and chest tube management
  • Ability to manage complex drips including cardiac, heparin, and insulin infusions
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients including bariatric, bladder, orthopedic, diabetic, cardiac, and respiratory cases
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and rehabilitation specialists
  • Utilize EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis, centralized telemetry, and related technologies for patient care management
  • Participate in weekend rotation every other week with no on-call responsibilities
  • Adhere to professional dress standards; free employee parking provided

This contract position includes a flexible schedule with the opportunity for up to two weeks approved time off and holiday coverage expected once during the summer and once in winter. Orientation is provided on-site to ensure a smooth transition.
